Today I’m going to talk about Goggle PageRank. For years I have been telling people how Google PageRank is important. Now I can tell you that it is NOT IMPORTANT. Surprised?

Couple months ago I saw this beautiful picture from www.seomoz.org. Take a look at it.

I guess Google decreased importance of a PageRank, which was Google’s core element for years, because SEO related websites started trading links with each other. For example - trading $50 for a link from a website with a PageRank of 3.

As a part of my promotion resources, I created a network of websites and filled their PageRanks from 3-5. But then I read some SEO articles, and made an experiment.

Take a look at these pictures:

The fact is that I created SEO in Bethesda page 2 days ago! I just optimized it well, and put links from other resources to this page. Although the keyword is not that competitive, I also got on a first page with keywords like Bethesda SEO, Internet marketing in Bethesda and so on.

Same picture with SEO in Annapolis.

Similar situation with Annapolis SEO, Internet marketing in Annapolis and so on.

You should admit that this is some COOL SEO, when my inner page, with a PageRank of ZERO, that was created couple days ago, kicks some butt of the websites that have been there for years?

Of course I have to admit that my SEO in Baltimore page is not doing so good, and is only on #21, but hey, even if the competition is high here, we already rank #2 with Baltimore Internet Marketing!

It took me to get down from #120 to #2 in just 2 months!

Enough of boasting, I just wanted to demonstrate you the PageRank’s importance.

Let me summarize:

1. Google PageRank is not that important as it used to be.
2. More important is the trust of the domain.
3. The related industry website links matter too
4. Anchor of the pages
5. Some secrets that I don’t wanna share with you for now

So if you will come up one day, to a SEO manager who will start a conversation with you - “Let’s see/increase your Google Pagerank“, you should stay away from these amateurs
