Internal promotion - refers to Internal Optimization of the website, that is actually a whole science, with different important aspects.
But first, let me give you the basic knowledge about internal optimization of the website pages.
As you may heard, page elements should have your keywords that your customers type in a search engines.
Page Elements: (In order of importance)
Page Title <title>
Heading
1,2,3,4 <h1>, <h2>, <h3>, <h4> etc
Links <a href=”#”>
Bold, Italic, Underline <strong><b><i>,<u>
Meta tags = keywords and description <META name =“description” content=“text”>
url – www.keywordsales.com/keyword/keyword-sales.php
Anchors – It’s always better to have a link with keyword on inner pages, leading to home page, than just a word – “home page”. Example – <Internet Marketing in Baltimore> link would be a lot better than just a text<home> or <www.vpromoter.com>
Density of keywords – how many times “keyword” is on the page, related to other text on the page.
Inner linking:
The more incoming links point at a certain page, the greater will be it’s value. It’s better to link it in a way that page1->page2->page3->page1 circle model, when you have almost no reciprocal links.
Also important factor is that the more outgoing links a page has, the less will be it’s effect to a receiving page.
Relevance:
The more relevant your page to a certain industry, and more related pages/articles the website has, the more valuable to Google the page will be.
